A man was bitten in the neck during a fierce "road rage" attack in Co Down.

A man was bitten in the neck during a fierce "road rage" attack in Co Down.

The man, who is hard of hearing, was driving home at around midnight on when another motorist came up close behind him in a green Peugeot 406, sounding his horn.

He pulled into a lay-by at a picnic area at Drummanmore Road, Kilkeel, Co Down, where he was attacked by the other driver, suffering severe bruising to his face, a bite to the neck, damage to his ear and scratches to the leg. A PSNI spokesman described the incident a "serious assault which appeared to be a case of road rage".
