Anglers from 21 countries are in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, to take part in this year's European Coarse Fishing Championships, an event scheduled for Yugoslavia but switched to Ireland because of the Kosovo crisis. Mr Brendan Hughes, chairman of Monaghan County Council, said last night the two-day event, which opens today, would be worth about £100,000 to the local economy. The championships are being held at Lough Muckno, near Castleblayney.
