THERE was one winner of the mid week Lotto ticket and it was bought in a local shop on Achill Island in Co Mayo late on Tuesday evening.
It is not known yet whether the £2 million jackpot has been won by a local person or by a visitor. The ticket was sold at John O'Malley's Spar shop in the village of Keel in Achill.
Although hopes in the area are high that the huge prize has been won by a local person, Mr O'Malley says that up to 80 per cent of his sales is to tourists.
