Mr Tom Considine, the current assistant secretary at the Department of Finance, has been appointed secretary-general (public service management and development) at the Department of Finance. He has also been appointed chairman of the top-level appointments committee.

Mr Considine joined the Department of Finance as an administrative officer in 1974 and, prior to this, worked in the Department of Education and the Department of Post and Telegraphs.
