The number of Irish citizens seeking consular assistance about deportation from the US has tripled, the Dáil has been told.

It includes those who have been deported and who are still going through the process, “which may include being held in detention by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement [Ice]”.

Are you an Irish person living in the United States? What does the Ice crackdown on immigrants mean for you, your friends and your family? Is it causing anxiety or making you change your behaviour?

Have you or someone you know been deported back to Ireland? Tell us your story.

If you are on a visa but not yet a citizen, are you unexpectedly concerned? Or do you know people who have been deported? Are you thinking of coming home to Ireland or moving elsewhere because of the political atmosphere?
